Dorothy just premiered this show at the Zipper Factory Theater to rave reviews
“A true entertainer with a touch of drama from start to finish, Dorothy Bishop shares her many talents, her tongue-in-cheek humor, and her glamorous Parisian couture costumes with an enthralled audience.  You’ll have so much fun watching this dynamo in action that you leave humming opera and seriously considering booking a cruise.  When’s the last time that happened?  Viva la Diva!” –Laurie Lawson

Described as “Sarah Brightman meets “Bette Midler”,  Dorothy promises that this show will leave you happily humming the tunes and perhaps even getting in touch with your own inner diva…or divo!

A resident of New York City, Miss Bishop has appeared with Hollywood Legend Faye Dunaway in the First Broadway National Tour of Terrence McNally’s Tony Award Winning Play Master Class.  Dorothy made her Carnegie Hall debut with Skitch Henderson and the New York Pops in 2002.  Regionally she has performed many of the great “Diva roles” including Lucia, Violetta, Tosca and Madam Butterfly.  In 2007, Miss Bishop began touring internationally with her own show, on the major luxury cruise ships across the world including the infamous Queen Elizabeth 2 and Queen Mary 2 Ocean Liners.  Possessing the uncanny ability to switch vocal styles “on a dime” she has thrilled audiences world-wide with everything from “Madama Butterfly to Dame Shirley Bassey!”   Dorothy

“Viva la Diva” is directed by infamous opera critic, James Jorden of Parterre.com.   The “virtual” orchestra is by Dean Bailin Studios NYC and costumes by Parisian designer  Jef Castaing.

“Viva la Diva” Back up dancers are Eric Thomas and Ralph Coppola from NYC.

VIVA LA  DIVA returns to NYC this fall at the Zipper Theater (dates tba).  Dorothy plans to produce her show in Atlantic City and Las Vegas in 2009.

“Dramatic! Comic! Enchanting!  Dorothy Bishop is a contender to be reckoned with!” raves Backstage Magazine.
